My Everyday FAVE Foundations, Concealer & Setting Powder
Since my last FAVE blog was about Primers, I thought my everyday favorite Foundations, Concealer & Setting Powder would be perfect to follow. I’ll also be including some key tips for a perfected application so you won't want to miss out on this one.
After I apply my M.A.C Fast Response Eye Cream and Strobe Cream (see my fave primer blog for more information on these two products) I start my foundation process. I always think of my face as my blank canvas, so I like to prep my "canvas" to a flawless finish before I start my other makeup. Here's my step by step breakdown on how I do just that!
The first product I use is L'Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation. It's a wonderful base foundation for myself as I like a little heavier coverage than most; but it can also be worn alone if you prefer a lighter foundation coverage. I recommend applying this product with either your fingers, sponge or a brush. I personally use my fingers because I feel like I can really get in there for a better application and coverage. You can purchase yours anywhere that carries L'Oreal. (Walgreens, CVS, Grocery stores, Online, Etc.)
Next I apply M.A.C Pro Longwear Foundation. I also apply this foundation with my fingers; but if you prefer to use a brush I recommend M.A.C 190 Foundation Brush. This foundation can also be worn alone for a medium foundation coverage. I love it because it lasts all day long. Hence Pro Longwear. :) It comes in a variety of shades for a perfect match. Purchase yours at M.A.C, online or any store that carries M.A.C products.
After my foundation is thoroughly applied I start my concealer. Staying in the Pro Longwear family of M.A.C, I also love their Pro Longwear Concealer! Just like the foundation it lasts all day and goes on great with my fingers. However if you are the brush type I recommend M.A.C 195 Concealer Brush.
TIP: Make sure you apply to your eyelids as well, and if you don't wear concealer I recommend putting foundation on your lids. I personally put both on my lids. ;)
Lastly I finish off my foundation and concealer with M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Pressed Setting Powder. I personally mix two of the shades by applying the lighter one first and then touching up with the darker for added dimension. I think the best application comes from using a powder puff (M.A.C Compact Powder Puff / 2) and pressing the powder into my foundation/concealer. This way the powder is setting into my makeup instead of sitting on top. It also helps my makeup last longer while looking better. Now if you just love brushes and would still prefer to use them, I recommend M.A.C 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush. Either way don't forget your eyelids! Then I close my eyes and spray my entire face with my M.A.C Fix+ Spray (see fave primer blog), and I'm ready to start my go-to powder contour. (Coming soon in a blog near you!!) :) ;)
BONUS: On days I'm in a rush I wear my L'Oreal Foundation and this alone. It's super quick and has medium coverage! Plus this product can also be worn by itself. One step and you're done! A total must have, and comes in several shades!! ;)
TIP: Always set your foundation and/or concealer to make it last longer and look great! Even if you just use one light foundation remember if it has a cream/liquid finish at all, SET IT! I promise you'll thank me later. ;) I recommend the above pressed powder or a loose translucent/neutral powder for a lighter coverage. This product is also what you can use throughout the day for any needed touch-ups.

PS I don't advertiser for M.A.C cosmetics. I truly just love their products!! ;)
