I’ve always had a passion for makeup. Being born with a Port Wine Stain Birthmark (also known as a Permanent Birthmark or PWS) that covers ¼ of my face and neck, my interest in makeup began at a very early age. My mom says I was three or four the first time I asked if I could join her to "play" makeup too. The first thing I did was cover my birthmark. Ever since that day I had fallen in love with makeup and how it made me feel. Yes, I know I was young; but any woman knows it doesn’t matter your age when it comes to feeling beautiful. It’s a wonderful feeling no matter how young or old you are, and once you feel it you never want it to go away. Starting around age 12 every day after school was the same for me. I would come home, tare out pictures of models of makeup I really liked in magazines and try to duplicate it on myself. After I was done I would remove it and try another. I did this over and over for about 4 hours every day after school. By the time I was 16 I was getting so good that all my friends wanted me to do their makeup too. My passion just kept growing the more I played and learned, and the world of makeup just kept getting bigger and better for me. It not only made me feel beautiful; but gave me the confidence I needed to build my lack of selfesteem from growing up different than my sisters and friends. Being a kid is hard enough; but to add something that makes you stand out makes it that much harder. Looking back though I wouldn’t change one thing. Makeup has changed my life in so many positive ways! I love sharing my talents with others and making other people feel great about themselves. To watch someone’s confidence grow in my makeup chair is one of my favorite parts about this wonderful gift I feel I’ve been given. Thank you for letting me share it with all of you!
